LITTLE MISSOURI 5/20/06

We are prepared for any emergency!

At the trailhead

Our destination

A fine day for a hike

Crossing our first water

Some need a little help from nature

Some are free spirited

Some are causal about it

Some are independent

Some are carefree

Some do it on their birthday

Some we are not sure of?

....but we all made it across and made it on our way

... out next crossing on the Little Missouri

..and here it was

The water was quite cool, but felt good on such a hot day!

Helping each other when necessary!

...again Ms. Independent

This girl has the right idea

Valli looking for a "log" to cross on!

Dr. Chuck looking for "crawdads"

Checking the depth, I guess?

It is hard to take a picture, when no one looks up while cross.

A "very" permanent sign indeed

We finally arrive

..at Winding Stair's

The water was clear and refreshing

..and we staked out our claim to eat lunch

..but first a "Group" picture

..and then a few of us posed!

The Little Missouri

...and the famous "Peace Rock"

We scurried down the river

...and hopped from rock to rock

...and took each step with care

...and sat and enjoyed the scenery

..and took another "Group" picture.  Well for those that had not gone on.

...and found our own little island

...and skipping rocks

We headed back after a great trip

Mr. Weekend and his latest outfit

Crossing the Little Missouri once again

Regrouping or resting?

A little trail maintenance would be nice here

Karen has a certain attraction to logs

..and if Karen can do it, so can Bob

Some take the safe way

There is wisdom is crossing this way

A perfect day, a perfect place.

Little Missouri looking downstream

Little Missouri looking upstream

But on the way home we visited the         Little Missouri Falls

You know what they say

when crossing a bridge

"smack her"
