HURRICANE CREEK NATURAL BRIDGE 11/06/10

We are going a new way today .... all eighteen of us and Flint!

Hurricane Creek

A tall "ice flower"

If there were more water we would not be going this way.

Piles of stones marking our way

The OHT route was 5.0 miles .... our way was 2.0 miles, big difference!

Now to find the old road!

A distressed tree

Fannie did not want to get wet, but eventually she did!

We found the fence so we are getting close!

Rest time

The old road/fire trail

This is Flint ..... lots of energy, but he is just a puppy!

This is the rest of the group ....not puppies!

Almost to the Wilderness Area

We finally made it to the OHT

Around this bend you can access the Natural Bridge

Kind of up where Zach is .... is the access.

Entering in the bluffs

Trails don't get much better than this ... and this isn't even a trail!

Bluffs below the Natural Bridge

We ran across campers below the bridge

Sign "Natural Bridge"

If you are a rock climber, this would be a "shortcut" up.

...and there it is!

We would usually go up there, but not today.

This was the last picture that I downloaded...all the rest from this point on are "GONE"!

Lost the last half of my pictures ....somewhere in cyberspace!  And they were the best ones of course!

BELOW ARE SOME GREAT PICTURES THAT TERRENCE CONANT SHARED .... HE SAID HE LOST SOME OF HIS PICTURES ALSO...WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?
